| The following photos are from the collection of Steve St. John of St. John Signs and Designs. 3 generations of St. Johns / Shackelfords have entertained fans at the Indianapolis Speedrome for more than 40 years. The patricarch of the family is Marvin St. John the father of Kenny and Mike winner of a combined 8 World Figure 8 Championships. Brother Tommy was the crew chief for many of those figure 8 wins. Steve has become the most prolific graphics designer at the Speedrome during the past 20 years...now the torch passes to Jeff Shackelford who recently won the World Championship at Irwindale Speedway. |
