| Although there are far more racing venues today that support "jalopy" style figure 8 than support late model figure 8 racing, this site is predominately dedicated to high tech and exotic form of racing known as late model or outlaw figure 8 racing. The next few pages are full of these drivers and race cars which have evolved into a much more sophisticated form of motor racing during the past 20 years. During recent years Irwindale and the Indianapolis Speedrome have offered major events paying in excess of $10K...The Speedrome has now upp'd the ante and is offering a $20K payout to the winner ot the World Figure 8 Championship in September. |
